The Black Hills Quilters Guild was established over 30 years ago by a few dedicated quilters and is now an organization of more than 150 members. Our members, of all ages and skill levels, are very active in the community.
The Guild has pledged to provide quilts for comfort, and each year more than 400 quilts are made and donated to a variety of local organizations.
We also provide quilts to cover all of the beds in a new Habitat House each year and donate to victims of home fires and other family disasters. We are happy to provide an ever-changing quilt display in the halls leading to the treatment rooms at the Cancer Care Institute at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
The guild supports an annual quilt show in June that showcases over 400 quilted items. Our
mini-quilt silent auction has raised nearly $2000.00 each year for the Hospice House. It also supports a 3-day retreat the first weekend in October that brings in nationally known instructors and quilters from all over America. A library is available for members of over 300 books, stencils, CD’s and Videos.
Many members meet every Tuesday to share their interest in quilting. It is a good time to bring a current project to work on, gather ideas, and have fun. Coffee is available and members are encouraged to bring a snack to share. Please join us! |
